Angelo Turetta

From the theatre stages of the Italian avant garde in the 1970’s and 1980’s to the sets of contemporary Italian cinema, Angelo Turetta has been photographing the country’s art, cultural and intellectual scene for the past three decades. At the same time, he has kept a steady eye on Rome, doggedly documenting the city’s changes throughout the years - capturing both the high and the low brow. Recognition for Turetta’s photographs include a thirteen-year consecutive 1st place in the Italian Set Photographer’s Awards (19967– 2006) and a World Press Photo Award.
